V4 launched on March 1. Since then we've shipped five major features and a stack of improvements. Here's everything new.
1. Investor Deal Flow
The biggest addition this month. Investors now have a full pipeline management system built directly into Athanor.
What it does:
- Kanban board — Drag-and-drop deal pipeline with configurable stages. Every evaluated idea can flow through your pipeline from first look to final decision.
- Automation rules — Set conditions (e.g., GemScore > 70, specific sector) and the system auto-moves deals into the right stage, sends templated actions, or flags items for review.
- Action templates — Pre-built outreach templates with placeholder rendering. Request info, schedule calls, or send passes — all from the Kanban card.
- Deal search & assignment — Search across your pipeline, assign deals to team members, and share pipeline views with your investment team.
- Request Info action — One-click "Request Info" directly from any Kanban card.
- Settings panel — Customize stages, automation rules, and team permissions.
- V4 report integration — A new Pipeline tab appears in V4 report sidebars, so you can manage a deal without leaving the report.
- CRM sync interest capture — An integration interest modal lets investors signal which CRMs they'd like connected. An admin dashboard tracks demand to prioritize integrations.

2. Founder DNA Determinator
A new assessment that maps founder strengths across multiple dimensions and uses the results to improve investor-founder matching.
For founders:
- Complete a short assessment from your profile
- Get a radar chart showing your strengths across dimensions like technical depth, domain expertise, leadership, resilience, and more
- DNA badges appear on your Abyss marketplace listing
For investors:
- Create founder preference presets (e.g., "strong technical + deep domain expertise")
- Filter the Abyss marketplace by DNA fit
- Fit badges on marketplace cards show how well each founder matches your preset
The matching algorithm scores alignment between investor presets and founder DNA profiles, surfacing the most relevant opportunities first.
3. Financial & Data Room Improvements
Financial PDF export — Verification-tier users can now download their financial projections as a formatted PDF. The simulator and CSV export are also gated to Verification tier.
Pipeline CSV export — Export your deal pipeline as CSV with GemScore columns included, ready for spreadsheet analysis or CRM import.
Expanded data room extraction — The data room now extracts text from ODS, ODT, PPTX, and ODP files in addition to the existing PDF, DOCX, and image support. Upload practically any document format and the AI will read it.
4. Auto-Gift Upgrade System & Path to Funding
A new system that automatically gifts tier upgrades to users based on configurable rules. Combined with a new Path to Funding page that shows founders what's possible at each tier and how to unlock the next level.
5. Smarter AI Stage Detection
The AI evaluation pipeline now recognizes a wider range of startup stage signals. Expanded numeric pattern detection (e.g., "$2M ARR", "500K users") and new keyword recognition for stages like "growth", "scaling", and "pre-revenue" mean more accurate stage classification across diverse pitch formats.
Bug Fixes & Polish
- Fixed V4 evidence graph and knowledge map failing to load on public/shared reports (non-authenticated users)
- Various hotfixes for Abyss marketplace, data room, and financial projections
- Partner white-label improvements for Abyss context
- Removed explorer pass (deprecated)
